Under the leadership of Fritz Kraft from 1989 to 2015, “Innsbruck and its 40 holiday villages“ developed into a success concept and turned into the leading tourism destination of the Alpine region.
Inspiration through innovation. With a colorful and fulminant kickoff back in 1994, Innsbruck’s “Bergsilvester” new year’s eve event, one of the numerous touristic innovations launched by and during the era of Fritz Kraft, was a successful premiere. A further project is for example the first edition of the Innsbruck Card (1997), which gives admission to museums, sights, public transport and cable cars in an “all-inclusive package”, attracting guests from around the globe. Launching the Innsbruck “Hotel Route System”, Fritz Kraft and his team pioneered in the first urban hotel route system. The quality campaign of Innsbruck’s mountain railways during the last 20 years and Innsbruck’s Olympia SkiWorld, which emerged from this engagement, bear his trademark as much as the understanding and stamina to develop new tourist markets in Europe as well in Asia and North and South America. Fritz Kraft also engaged in the development of new air routes to Innsbruck and the cooperation with alliance partners from the international tourism sector.
